Bee pollen is a powder-like material that is produced by the anthers of flowering plants. The pollen is gathered by bees (Apis mellifera), that select the best pollen from the millions of grains that are present. Bees adhere the pollen to their rear legs using a sticky substance secreted from their stomachs, allowing them to safely transport the pollen to their hives. The granular bee pollen is then collected and air-dried. The impurities are removed and the product is packed. Bee pollen granules are oval to round, multicolour granules, waxy in nature, with a slightly sweet taste.
